Royal Wedding Pandemonium - (Yes! A premonition! Any problem with that?)

Yesterday was really the day for every person who knows Disney and fairytale. It was indeed day of escaping from reality! Wasn't it? A day when everyone was putting their shoes I think on to anyone of the people in Westminster Abbey and attend the service or ceremony whatever they call it. Well, for me was really not putting myself to anyone of them but to be one of the people shrieking and be part of the history. I was not excited as to how William will look and what he will wear. Common! Its given. Right? And I think if not 110% of the people will agree more or less near there. Everyone was reckoning on how Kate will look and who is she wearing. I had a premonition (Yes! A premonition! Any problem with that? LOL) that it will be Sarah Burton of Alexander Mcqueen will design the dress. And as not as sure as I was it was really her. In the reports, Kate worked closely with Sarah in designing the dress and what she wants is that like the contemporary meets the modernity. And the result? She looks breathtaking, divine, and beyond stunning!

So much for that Royal wedding brouhaha, yesterday was the Mango Summer Collection here in SG. Since I can't take my eyes off from the TV we skipped the fashion show and just went there to tag along with my new found friend Marie. We tried the photobooth and we looked unmapped! See it for yourself on the last photo. Hahahaha! The queue to the counter was a kilometer stretch so we decided not to buy and just go directly to Marriot Hotel for dinner. As expected I went home with a balloon in my stomach. All I can say is that it was hell-out-of-fun!

COACHELLA 2011 ROUNDUP

Coachella 2011 has come and done and yet the swearing that I gave to myself a year ago was just another promise to be broken. I was shouting and pleading last week if someone can kidnap me and bring me to INDIO just maybe for an hour. But, no one listens! LOL! Everyone maybe there was awed by Kanye West's performance because it created a houha on twitter. And of course who will not forget him wearing the CELINE blouse but he rocked it to the bones. Its proven and tested that when it comes to fashion Kanye really has no boundaries. Because of his brave soul of wearing that Celine blouse he was chosen as the best dressed of the week by George Kotsiopoulos and Joan Rivers on E's Fashion Police.

A Tribute to GRACE CODDINGTON

Grace Coddington was born on April 14, 1941 to hotelier parents on the island of Anglesey, Wales. Her interest in fashion began in her teens, when she would anxiously await the arrival of a current issue of Vogue magazine, which was at least three months outdated due to the fact that she needed to order it on "Rush-Copy". She lived miles away from any designer shops, so Vogue was her only connection to the fashion world. She says that she loves "the whole sort of chic thing [about Vogue] that was so entirely out of context compared to the lifestyle that [she] led". As a teen, she was pale-skinned and convent-educated and never went anywhere on her holidays, so she just looked at Vogue. Around the age of 17, there was a Vogue model competition, and someone submitted her pictures. She ended up winning the Young Model section. She then began her modeling career for Vogue.[1]
At the age of 26, Grace was in car accident that left her disfigured (she lost her eyelid). She later had plastic surgery to have it reconstructed. Two years after the accident, at the age of 28, she was interviewed by BritishVogue's Editor, Beatrix Miller and she was employed as a Junior Editor. After nineteen years as Photo Editor with British Vogue,[2] she moved to New York to work for Calvin Klein.[3] In July 1988, she joined Anna Wintourat American Vogue, where she remains the magazine's creative director.

If you have watched The September Issue then we can all say that Grace plays of the crucial role in VOGUE.Prior to watching the documentary I just know Grace as the creative director of the magazine. But after watching it I love Grace Coddington more. I find her as not just a survivor, strong woman, great visionary, a woman with beyond impeccable style, fighter and a true person. She has this part of her that makes the photos like a fairytale yet realistic. She makes the readers feel that what they see in the pages of the magazine are not all edited. And that all can relate to every pages of the magazine. One instance was when she told the editor not to alter the tummy of the cameraman after Ana Wintour made a comment on the photo. If you still remember that was the color blocking shoot with Patrick Demarchelier.

Quoting a comment in Youtube "Grace I thank you for all your hardwork on VOGUE - I think your amazing, expressive, REAL and down to earth so thank you! Everyone thats seen September Issue recalls you first as the reason to watch.

You're not just the Creative Director but the backbone of the magazine. I look up to you so much. YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION NOT JUST TO ME BUT TO EVERYONE. And when I hear someone talking that has something to do with fashion, the first person that will come to my mind is you and Ana then Rachel Zoe, Karl and etc.
This post is a tribute to you! Although this is not the best post and the best tribute I'm praying that one day you'll be able to read this.

When she called not to edit the photo.

This is the photo that she doesn't want to be edited and just to leave it at that.

Summer Celebration MANGO

While I was at work my friend gave me ring that her friend was invited for the Mango Summer Celebration. Being a virgin to all of these and dying to watch a REAL fashion show I told him to ask her friend if they can stretch it instead of the usual plus one can they make it plus two instead. Is there such thing? Well, you can't blame me I always hear from Joan Rivers about her plus one in Fashion Police and it was never in plus two. HAHAHAHA! I'm beyond eggzited for this! I'm pinning my hopes that my expectations are really what will take place and happen. Imagine te feeling that one day you get to see and invited by those major fashion houses. I would DIE if that happens. So calling Chanel, Burberry, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Lanvin, Givenchy, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana I'm waiting for your invitation for the S/S 2012. I don't care where they will put even if its to the extreme back that I have to stand in a chair I don't frigging mind. So, if Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors is reading this I'm dying to meet you one day.

And lately Adele's track - Turning Tables has been hunting me that wherever I am it eats my mind over and over. Get your share of it.

Francesco Cominelli

I absofreakinlutely be smitten with how he wrapped his belt around. Its a great touch! Aside from Brad Goreski whom I look up so much this man is like more than two times as to what is Brad is capable of. NO OFFENSE Brad just if in case you are reading this post! (As if he knows I exist and that this blog exist! LOL) . Francesco to me will not just be a great contributor only to VOGUE HOMMES but a man with superlative sense of style and a fine visionary.

New York Tradition

N.Y. Adorned “Tradition” from Evan Owen Dennis on Vimeo.

New York City is such a living, breathing entity unto itself. No matter what culture these artists coming from, New York is a place to find common ground. They are creators and they need to create, and tatooing is just one part of it. Why is tattoing so powerful to people? Its a power of dominancy! Of that moment in time why you did it? And what it means to you is with you forever! Tattoing is the most ancient artwork of the world so you want to always be growing in your art but you never want to forget the tradition.

American tattoo shop NY Adorned is the focus of this short film titled “Tradition” which highlights their efforts as a parlor.

Dr. Marten's Fashion Week 2011 SG

A few weeks ago, embarked the first ever Men's Fashion Week in Asia and was ran at Sands Expo & Convention Center in Singapore.  One of the brands that showed their presence is Dr. Marten's. Not to repudiate when talking about boots, brogues and any leather shoes its automatic DM's. The Vintage 1460 8-Eye Boots which most of the models are wearing will always be my ultimate choice. I can eat it from dusk till dawn (LOL!). You can check of the official site of Dr. Marten's here. Hail to the black and yellow!
