Versace for H&M

After a successful collaboration with Lanvin, H&M is pooling resources with Versace. Another mayhem again for shopaholics. The announcement marks an about face for Versace, who in 2008 claimed that a high street diffusion line simply wasn't the Versace way. "I respect everyone who does it. But the reason I didn't do it is because I work very hard to put the Versace line in the luxury section. I think to put the Versace line in H&M would confuse the brand," she told New York Magazine. However, rather than 'diffusion', this line is being sold as an 'Iconic Collection' for which Donatella will raid the archives of the Italian fashion house that was founded by her brother Gianni in 1978. Substantial queues down Regent Street in November for sure will be inevitable. It was even in the reports that parishioners of both fashion houses were going gaga that some were queueing hours just to get some of the pieces. SHOPALLUCINATION that is! Well, we can't blame them! Alber Elbaz and
Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M and her team really did an AH-MAZING job! Isn't it hitting two birds in one stone? Since the banding-together really made more than millions of miles since part of the sales went to UNICEF.  Although for this time it was not mentioned as to who will be the beneficiaries.

And now H&M is hand-hugging Versace avid fans of the two brands will definitely go nuts! As per Donatella she will be using -  "iconic Versace pieces of iconic Versace moments. The collection will be quintessential Versace, perfect for H&M and Versace fans everywhere. Expect studded leather and colourful prints for the girls; sharp tailoring and plenty of bling for the boys. No wink! It will be capital G for glamorous!

Rock 'n' roll!
